Works at any merchant that accepts Visa in your country. No restrictions, the most flexible card type.

Best for: general spending, gifting, everyday use.

Restricted to specific merchant criteria, for example, dining, fuel, or groceries.

Best for: budget-specific gifting, employee expense cards, controlled spending.

Restricted to specific location set by the card issuer. (usually a shop or store)

Best for: marketing campaigns, brand-specific rewards, targeted incentives.
